A note on this version. This edition (v0.4) presents the book by its complete thesis: the real-time enterprise and the four faces in which it is lived — The Quantum Leap · Postchat · The General Staff · The Watch — with the intelligent organization as their convergence. The protagonist and her organization are fictional composites. The guest prologue remains pending.

The Trilogy
This book is volume I of the Agentive World Trilogy. The transition that occupies the trilogy is a single one: from the world where people open applications to work, to the world where AI agents are the interface of work. The three volumes answer, in order, the three questions of that transition — and each one reads complete on its own:
I · The Real-Time Enterprise — The Agentive World (this book) Where are we going? — the destination. For those who want to see the world on the other side of the transition: how people work, decide, and compete when the enterprise operates in real time — told in its four faces.
II · AURA — The Agentive Path Which way? — the route. For those who have to make the crossing: leaders and advisors of the transformation. Its five specifications are standalone instruments for the agentive era — each one can be used separately, without the rest of the book:
| Spec | What is it? | Used alone, what does it give you? |
|---|---|---|
| IRIS | A maturity model of organizational intelligence | Locates your organization on the road from data to action |
| MOTOR | A maturity model of organizational automation | Measures how advanced your organization is at process automation |
| Data Canon | The evolution of the decentralized data-management model (Data Mesh) | Defines how the organization’s data is governed |
| Wingmap | The evolution of business process management (BPM / process mining) | Reconstructs processes and information flows without interviews |
| Use Cases | A portfolio framework, illustrated with 100 use cases and 30 value solutions | Prioritizes where to start, according to your maturity |
III · AgencyDomains — Agentive Architecture How do we get there? — the vehicle. For architects, CTOs, and builders of agentive platforms: the formal specification of the Agentive World.
Vergis — Agentive Technology (not a book: it’s code) What do I start with today? — the keys. For anyone who wants to start making all of this real: the reference implementation of the architecture, open source, at https://github.com/gegolabs/vergis.
Start with The Real-Time Enterprise if you need to convince yourself — or someone else — that the transition is for real; with AURA if you have to lead it; with AgencyDomains if you have to build it; with Vergis if you want to see it running. The full trilogy lives at https://agencydomains.org.
