The Trilogy

The Agentive World Trilogy, in five parts (for now).

The transition that occupies the trilogy is a single one: from the world where people open applications to work, to the world where AI agents are the interface of work. It is four books and a reference implementation. Each component answers one question of that transition, and each one reads complete on its own.

The four books were written in the reverse order of reading, like a stack: AgencyDomains came first and ended up at the bottom; this book, the last, ended up on top. That is why a book can cite another that is read after it: it cites it because it had already been written.

I · The Death of Software as We Know It (this book) Why now? The starting point. Why describing a business once and freezing it in a piece of software, whether rented, licensed or custom-built, stops being the way to automate it; what is lost when every organization builds its own; and which piece survives the change: the system of truth.

II · The Real-Time Enterprise · The Agentive World Where are we going? The destination.

III · AURA · The Agentive Path Which way? The route.

IV · AgencyDomains · Agentive Architecture How do we get there? The vehicle.

A · Vergis · Agentive Technology (the reference implementation: not a book, it’s code) What do I start with today? The keys.
