Office work is about to change shape, because AI agents can take over the part of the work that never should have been human. That is the thesis of the Agentive World Trilogy, and these lines tell it whole.

In every organization, people hold two jobs at once. The visible one is what their title says: deciding, creating, selling, leading. The invisible one is infrastructure: moving information — reading and forwarding messages, attending status meetings, preparing reports that relay what someone else already wrote, chasing replies, staying available just in case. That second job consumes an enormous share of the workday — in management roles, easily the majority — and it is the reason the day falls short: a human day yields, at best, three or four hours of deep work, and interruptions eat the rest.

An AI agent can do that second job whole: answer the business question in seconds, carry every message to whoever should receive it — in their version and at their moment —, coordinate and follow up without tiring, and stand watch when the person is away. The organization that acts on this we call the real-time enterprise: people keep the authority, the judgment, and the signature; information transport moves to silicon. Communication stops interrupting: the agent intercepts the flow and delivers only what justifies your attention — that stage we call Postchat. And none of this is imposed: it is an optional, reversible mode of working that each person switches on and off, and that lives alongside the usual tools. That way of working — expressing intentions instead of operating applications — we call the Agentive World.

The trilogy tells the whole transition.
